Monitoring - All infrastructure has now been updated and all affected stations have fully restarted. If you are still having any issues, please restart your station from the Broadcast.Radio portal, and if you are still seeing any problems after that please contact us via https://help.broadcastradio.com

We will be monitoring closely over the next few hours.

Again, we're very sorry about this second outage since Friday, and thank you again for your patience, and we'll publish a post-mortem over the coming days once we have fully investigated whats happened.

Update - The updated Azure software has rolled out across 80% of the platform and stations have been coming back online over the last 30 minutes. We are continuing to roll out the update to all other host systems and are working to bring other stations back on line as fast possible.

We're very sorry about this outage and will be working with our upstream partners including Microsoft and it's partners to understand how we can prevent issues within external code from affected Myriad Cloud like this from occurring again.

We will also be looking at how we can alter how we better engineer the underlying platform infrastructure in future so that if a scenario like this ever happens again we can better isolate and move affected stations more swiftly to unaffected infrastructure.

We'll post more information as soon as we have it.

Nov 25, 14:34 GMT
Identified - The Microsoft Azure control system that manages the actual physical compute stack has a memory leak within it's control software that is causing our host platform to force restarts to attempt to mitigate the memory issue.

We are urgently rolling out a fix from Microsoft to the affected nodes and will post an update as soon as we have more details.

Resolved - This incident has been resolved.

Update - This issue is now resolved and all stations are running normally. If your station is still experiencing issues, please use the Restart Station option in the Control Panel first and if that doesn't resolve it please raise a ticket via https://help.broadcastradio.com/

The original root cause was with one specific customer deployment which was stuck in an infinite loop, trying to read and write huge amounts of data to Azure storage causing automatic throttling within Azure. This led to silences on a very small subset of stations as the system took significantly longer than expected to load audio files from Azure.

Based on our new understanding of how this throttling is applied, we are working on additional monitoring to detect such deployments and reset or remove them before they cause any impact to other parts of the system.

These changes will be on top of other significant streamlining work that we have already completed and is now actively being beta tested across a selection of test systems prior to a full roll out in the new year.

Monitoring - A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results.
Nov 21, 10:10 GMT
Identified - The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented.
Nov 21, 10:09 GMT
Investigating - We are currently seeing a small number of Myriad Cloud stations that are hosted in the Microsoft Azure North Europe region seeing slower performance.

We are currently investigating and will post an update as soon as we have more information

Resolved - We have been monitoring the platform for the past two hours since bypassing Cloudflare services. Although Cloudflare continues to experience disruption, Myriad Cloud and Broadcast.Radio Portal have remained up and fully operational.

We would encourage customers experiencing issues loading our to press Shift + F5, or clear browser cache, to ensure you have received the latest updates that remove Cloudflare.

Nov 18, 14:24 GMT
Monitoring - Although Cloudflare are reporting signs of recovery, we have temporarily bypassed/removed Cloudflare services from Myriad Anywhere Cloud and the Broadcast.Radio Portal, so any recurrence will not have any impact on these services.
Nov 18, 12:36 GMT
Investigating - Cloudflare (pretty much the largest content distribution network host on the planet) is currently having serious issues and this is having a knock effect to thousands of webservices globally. This is not only affecting services hosted via Cloudflare, but also the internet in general as many users and systems are struggling to route around the issues at CF.

This outage has NOT affected our streaming services as these do not use any Cloudflare services.

Myriad Cloud and Myriad Anywhere themselves are NOT affected due to this outage, and all Broadcast Radio systems are running normally, however we do use a small part of Cloudflare to help distribute some parts of our web based services, and you may see some slowdowns when you first open a browser to login to some parts of the Broadcast.Radio or Myriad Anywhere platforms until Cloudflare resolve this issue.

Because of the way our platforms are designed, we are able to switch off our use of CF services just in case of this scenario and we are throwing that switch now, but it will take a few minutes for that to propagate around the internet.

If you DO find yourself seeing slow updates for websites, avoid refreshing the browser and just leave it to finish loading.

As soon as Cloudflare posts an update we'll update here, and we'll publish a Status Page note shortly.
