Planned Maintenance – Connectivity Work Affecting Some Myriad Cloud Dedicated Customers
We have been informed that both BT primary and secondary connections have critical national infrastructure connectivity work on June 2nd between 00:00 and 07:00 BST, which will affect the Mediasite Data Centre that hosts some of our Myriad Cloud Dedicated customers.
Important: The work itself is expected to take less than 15 minutes, however, as it impacts thousands of customers across the region, BT are not able to confirm the exact timing within the maintenance window, primarily because the work also affects 999 emergency calls provision, so the work cannot start until any emergency calls that are active at the start of the maintenance window have completed.
The Mediasite has raised strong objections to this work and in particular to both connections being affected at the same time, however BT have advised that they are unable to provide a smaller window, nor stagger the affected works due to the emergency services issue.
Note: This maintenance does not affect stations running on Myriad Cloud (native), which are hosted in a different location, nor does it affect stations hosted in the USA datacenter in Pittsburgh.
During the maintenance window, you may notice brief disconnections to Myriad Anywhere and/or BR Live services. These should automatically reconnect within a short time. Streaming connections may also drop briefly before reconnecting automatically.
We recommend ensuring you have a fallback media file configured with your streaming provider, so your station remains on air in the event of a short connectivity interruption.
